The International Environmental Law Research Centre (IELRC) is an independent, non-profit research organisation established in 1995. It is constituted as a Swiss Association under Articles 6 of the Swiss Civil Code and is a registered charity in the UK (1107304).

WORKING AREA: IELRC conducts research on biosafety, biodiversity, climate change, intellectual property, justice and human rights and water and sanitation. They also ppublish LEAD Journal which is a peer-reviewed academic publication based in New Delhi and London and jointly managed by the Law Department of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) – University of London and the International Environmental Law Research Centre (IELRC).

OFFICES: It has offices in Switzerland (Geneva), the UK (London) and Kenya (Nairobi), and benefits from a strong network of expertise in India.
