Call for Papers : INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND RIGHTS-BASED DEVELOPMENT

Dates: 15-17 May 2015
Venue: Kovalam, Thiruvananthapuram

Government of Kerala is organising the Second International Conference on Deepening Democracy through Participatory Local Governance from 15th to 17th May 2015 at Kovalam, Thiruvananthapuram. The theme for the deliberations is Local Governments and Rights-Based Development. The objective of the conference is to share the experiences of interventions and evolve workable suggestions in the following sub-themes for consideration of Local Governments and decision making bodies.

• Right to Information • Rights of Special Groups
• Right to Work • Right to Health
• Rights of the Child • Livelihood Rights
• Right to Food • Environmental Rights
• Rights related to Social Justice • Civic Rights
• Gender Rights • Rights to City with focus on Rights on Marginalized

The final date for abstract of the paper is Friday 20th March 2015. The abstract (500 words) shall be in MS Word format. The abstract will be reviewed by an academic committee and final paper needs to be submitted on acceptance of abstract. The decision on abstract will be communicated before Wednesday 25th March 2015. The fi nal date for submission of full paper (5000 words) in MS Word format is Saturday 25th April 2015. The papers may be submitted to Dr. P.P. Balan, Director, KILA, or Mr. S.
