2016 Newcastle University India Scholarships for Postgraduate Students in UK

Applications are invited for Newcastle University India Scholarships Commences September 2016 for one year only. This award is available for high achieving students applying for entry onto any postgraduate Master’s degree programme at Newcastle University.

Applicants will need an overall score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Applicants will also need at least IELTS 5.5 or equivalent in each of the four sub-skills: Writing; Reading; Speaking and Listening.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate Master’s degree programme at Newcastle University.

Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded to learn any of the courses offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: Scholarship of £3,000 payable towards the first year of tuition fees will be awarded.

Eligibility: In order to be eligible to apply for one of these scholarships you must satisfy the following conditions:
-Applicants must be a Indian national and have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes
-Applicants must hold a Conditional or Unconditional offer on any master’s degree programme at Newcastle city campus
-Applicants intend to register to start your studies during the 2016-17 academic year
-Applicants are a self-funded student and not in receipt of other University or external awards
-Applicants must have an average of 60% or above in your Bachelors degree. If applicants are yet to complete their degree university will assess they on the basis of their results to date, providing them have achieved an average of 60% or above and applicants are expecting to maintain/ increase this in their final semester/year. Students with CGPA scores can also apply if their percentage equivalence is 60% and above.

Nationality: The students of India can apply for the scholarship.

-Their personal details and qualifications.
-Course choices – you can choose up to 5 (if they choose fewer they can add extra ones later, as long as they do so before the deadline). They will need the UCAS code for Newcastle University if they are applying to us.
-A personal statement – this is where they can stand out from other applicants, so they should start thinking about this early. There’s a useful tool on the UCAS website help applicants write this.
-A reference from a teacher, adviser or professional who knows you academically.
