DEPARTMENT OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL 

SCIENCES The Department of Humanities and Social 

Sciences is a source of change-facilitators who serve to complement the existing and emerging educational programs of our institute by imparting professional and behavioral competencies and, thereby, transforming our students to become the New-age, Innovating, Competitive and Enterprising leaders in their chosen professions of service and technology. This department serves as a ‘Center of Excellence’ dedicated to the dissemination of professional and behavioral knowledge pertaining to communication skills, interpersonal and managerial skills. The department recognizes industry partnering in shaping humanities and management education as a focus area.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP In today’s world it is very important to be financially smart. Finance is the life blood of any organisation or even the life of an individual. The business organisations want to maximise their profits and the individuals wish to protect and multiply their savings. The knowledge of finance is important to be able to understand the functioning and performance of a business organisation. Moreover, a person should be well versed with the various options of investment of savings so that he can manage his finances in an efficient manner.

This program is formulated by department of Humanities and Social Sciences for the non-finance professional, faculty members, students and anyone who is interested in understanding the basics of financial management and personal finance. This workshop will provide the understanding of basic concepts of accounting and finance which are essential to take financial decisions at individual level. The participants will be able to understand the structure of financial statements, calculate the interest and returns on investments; EMIs on loans and the value of pensions etc. The participants will also learn about the risk return trade-off in investments, basics of investing in stock markets, mutual funds and buying insurance policies.

TARGET AUDIENCE – This workshop is designed for working professionals, faculty members, students, self employed, housewives etc. Prior knowledge of accounting or finance is not required to benefit significantly from this 

workshop.

Registration fees- Rs 500/-Payable in Cash or through Demand Draft in favor of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.
