The Department of Economics, Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai proposed to conduct a National Conference on Feb 28, 2018.  The Conference provides a platform for public discussion by eminent people focusing on the new reforms introduced by the Government of India to make the country more competitive. The conference includes deliberations from current new reforms such as Insolvency and the bankruptcy Code to the roll out of the GST (goods and service tax) and many other aspects leading to a higher level of institutionalisation.

CONFERENCE THEME

To provide a platform for discussions on the issues and challenges faced by the new reforms, better understanding of the long term impact of these reforms and providing suggestions for their betterment and arriving at relevant policy implications that would emanate from these deliberations for a better and competitive New India.
