9th edition of AMIMUN’20 will be organized by Amity International Model United Nations

THEME OF AMIMUN’20

The theme for AMIMUN’20 “Audere Est Facere” which is Latin term for “To Dare is to Do”, they wish to encourage the delegates to engage in a debate that is thought-provoking and will yield forth solutions to the pressing issues in the world today.

COMMITTEES

AMIMUN’20 will simulate eight committees as well as International Press in the present edition, headed by renowned executive board members.

The following committees shall be simulated in addition to the International Press at AMIMUN’20:

  • United Nations Human Rights Council
    • The agenda for the UNHRC is “Racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance monitoring and implementation of the Durban Declaration and Program of Action.”
  • United Nations Historic Security Council
    • The agenda for the UNHSC is  “Deliberation on the situation in Cyprus. (Freeze date: 16th July 1974)”
  • The United Nations Futuristic General Assembly
    • The agenda for the UNFGA is “Reviewing the success of SDGs 6, 7, 11 and 13 in lieu of the rising sea levels, submerging cities and acute water crisis. (Freeze date: September 2029)
  • The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women
    • The agenda for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women is “Implementing SDG 5 to achieve generational equality for women’s rights and an equal future.”
  • The United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs
    • The agenda for the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs is “Discussing measures to control drug trafficking with special emphasis on fraudulent medicines.”
  • World Trade Organization (WTO)
    • The agenda for WTO is “Building Trade capacity of least developed countries with an additional emphasis on the effect of tariff competition between countries.”
  • The Continuous Crisis Committee
    • Agenda: “Classified”
  • The All India Political Parties Meet
    • The agenda for the AIPPM is : “Discussion on Freedom of Speech and Expression with special emphasis on Freedom of Literature Bill.”
  • International Press
