About the GLC Debate:

The Debating and Literary Society of GLC, Mumbai aims to mould well informed and aware citizens of the country and promote the culture of debate, and make room for discourse, dissent and discussion in the student community. For which, parliamentary debating was sought as a means.

We are opening registrations for the fourth edition of The GLC Debate. The international debate tournament is scheduled for February 28, 2020-March 1, 2020, and will be a British Parliamentary Debate.

The Debate follows an open tournament policy allowing cross teams, independent adjudicators and graduates. As for institutional contingents, we will be following N+1 Rule.

It signified the culmination of efforts by the Judiciary, the Bar Council of India, the Karnataka Bar Council, the Bangalore University and the Government of Karnataka to reform legal education and to establish a centre of excellence for legal education and research in India

The National Law School Journal (NLSJ) invites submissions from practitioners, academicians and researchers. Submissions can be in the form of long articles (8,000-12,000 words), shorter essays (5,000-8,000 words), comments on judicial decisions (3,000–5,000 words), analysis of legislative materials (3,000-5,000 words) and reviews of recently published books (2,000-3,000 words) besides other forms of scholarly writing.

Theme: NLSJ encourages submissions that explore themes within the universe of legal studies and allied interdisciplinary scholarship.

Registration and Selection Process:

Step 1: Each student is allowed to register by sending an abstract (maximum 300 words) on one or two sub-themes on or before November 20th 2019. Based on the title and abstracts submitted by the students as approved by IUCIPRS, the subthemes will be allocated to the students. They encourage original single-author papers, though joint submissions with a maximum of two authors are also permissible. Selection will be based on the quality of the paper submitted.

Step 2: Intimation for the selection of abstracts will be given on or before December 1st 2019. Selected students would then require to get registered by making the payment of the workshop fee along with the formal registration. Submission of abstracts must be made through e-mail atrethinkingipr2020@gmail.com.

Step 3: Students would further be required to send the full paper by December 31st 2019. Students shall be asked to revise their paper after 1st and 2nd screening.

Participants are required to register by paying Rs. 2500, which is inclusive of Lunch, tea and snacks during the Workshop hours. Participants are required to tak care of their travel and stay during the days of the Workshop. The total number of participants is limited to 35. All participants are expected to take an active role in the workshop.

About the Client Consulting Competition:

The 19th National Client Consulting Competition under the auspices of the Kerala Law Academy Moot Court Society will be held from 7th to 9th of November 2019 at the Kerala Law Academy (KLA) Campus, Peroorkada, Thiruvananthapuram.

Eligibility:

  • The Competition is open to all Law Colleges and Faculties/University Departments of Law in India recognised by the Bar Council of India. The participation is limited to LLB/BL/BGL students both in the Three year Scheme and Five Year Scheme.
  • Students doing post-graduation in law and students undergoing correspondence courses are not eligible to participate in the Competition.
  • Only one team from each participating colleges shall be registered for the competition. Each team shall comprise of two students
