The Think India, Himachal Pradesh Chapter has been established as a subsidiary of Think India

Organization in line with the common goals and objectives. We, at Think India, are committed

to becoming the beacon of change that may lead to a positive impact on the life of students.

The organization embraces various organs and initiatives started with the motive of helping

young minds to match their steps with the fast-moving world. The Think India organization

works for various causes such as promoting social harmony, upliftment of rural India,

supporting gender justice, and initiating and encourage India-centric thoughts and activities on

campuses and among the intelligentsia, etc. Under the same, we organize various events such

as article writing competitions, debates, conferences, and webinars etc.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Journal for Law Students and Researchers [JLSR] is an Online Journal with ISSN[O]: 2582-

306X and 8 indexing’s, which is quarterly, Peer-Reviewed, published online and JLSR seeks

to provide an interactive platform for the publication of Short Articles, Long Articles, Book

Reviews, Case Comments, Research Papers, Essays in the field of Law.

JLSR welcomes contributions from all legal branches, as long as the work is original,

unpublished, unplagiarized and is in consonance with the submission guidelines.

NATURE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

Research Paper or Research Articles: The paper must conduct a complete analysis of the area

of law, which the author seeks to highlight. It must contain a comprehensive study of the

existing law with the suggestions and conclusions of the Author. Word Limit being 2000 to

5,000 words.

Short Notes: Criteria is the same as above & word Limit will be between 1000-2000 words only.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Any individual can take part in this event. Topic should be related to Law only.

• Only one submission per author shall be entertained. Co-authorship is permitted up to

two authors only.

• The paper must be submitted in English language. The paper should be the original

work of the authors. Papers with plagiarism less than 25% are only eligible for

publication.

• The paper published elsewhere or selected/submitted for publication elsewhere shall be

disqualified.

• The name of the author should not be mentioned anywhere in the paper.

• The paper should be typed in: Times New Roman, Font Size 12 and Line Spacing 1.5.

• The footnotes must be typed in: Times New Roman, Font Size 10 and Line Spacing 1.

• All text should be justified.

• Citation Format: The citation format to be followed is The Bluebook (19th Ed.)/Any

Standard Format.

National Seminar on Working Women in Unorganized Sector in India: Issues and Challenges, NUWUSI-2020

Organised by – Department of Economics Arya Mahila Post Graduate College (Admitted to the Privileged of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi) Chetganj, Varanasi (UP)

Theme

According to the National sample survey 2005, the contribution of female workers in the unorganized sector in 96% and they contribute around 20% in the GDP of India. Indian working women constitute nearly half of the total working population and their economic status is still low particularly of those who are engaged in the the informal sector or unorganized sector such as home industry, self employment, small units, agriculture, labor on construction sites etc. The major aspects of working women in unorganized sector include the terms and condition of employment, job security, earnings, social security perquisites, retirement benefits etc., and they are in a disadvantageous position. Some steps have been taken by the India government both at the national and the state level, to protect the rights of working women in the unorganized sector. Therefore, there is an urgent need to focus on and discuss the problems of working women in the unorganized sector. Thus, this national seminar is organised to highlighting the socio-economic condition of of working women in an unorganized sector and to develop the toolkit for improvement and implementation of government policy regarding the health, safety and overall well-being of working women in the unorganized sector.

Sub-Themes of the Seminar

  1. Changing pattern of Indian working women in the unorganized sector.
  2. The socio-economic condition of Indian women in the unorganized sector.
  3. Social security of Indian women working in the unorganized sector.
  4. Differences in-service conditions of Indian working women of the organized sector and unorganized sector such as pay disparities, working environment etc.
  5. Contribution of Indian working women in different unorganized sector such as agriculture, manufacturing, services etc.
  6. Health, safety, and well-being of Indian women working in the unorganized sector.
  7. Labor laws of central and state government for the working woman’s in the unorganized sector.

Submission of the Papers

The abstract of paper should not be more than 300 words and the full-length paper should not exceed 6000 words.The submission should be in Microsoft word only, written in A4 single-column format, 1.5 line spacing and normal margins, using the font “Times New Roman” in 12 point size.Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. References cited in the text should conform to the style used by the American Psychological Association.

  1. The paper should be original, unpublished and plagiarism free.
  2. Paper should be typed in Times New Roman font for English and for Hindi Kriti Dev 10 font.
  3. The abstract and full paper should have the author’s name, designation, and affiliation along with e-mail Id and Mobile Number.
  4. The full paper must be enclosed with filled in the registration form.
  5. The abstract / full paper must be submitted through e-mail only nswusi2020@gmail.com.
  6. The peer-reviewed accepted papers presented in the seminar shall be published in the ISBN book of the reputed publisher.

Poster Presentation:

Send your abstract of research paper to be presented in Poster Session of the seminar and show your research work to the delegates throughout the seminar days. The dimension of the poster is vertical height 120 cm and horizontal width 80 cm, the poster will be placed vertically.

Best poster will be selected and awarded.

VACANCY @ SUPREME COURT OF INDIA: LAW CLERK CUM RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Online applications are invited from Indian citizens who fulfill  the following Essential Qualifications and other eligibility conditions,  as on 28.2.2017, for preparation of a panel of suitable candidates for  engagement as Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistants in the Supreme  Court of India purely on contractual basis on a fixed consolidated  stipend of Rs.30,000/- per month initially during the assignment  session commencing from 3-7-2017 till the closure of the Court for  Summer Vacation, 2018.  However, the contract can be terminated  at any point of time without any notice.   

Essential Qualifications:- 

(i) The candidate must be a law graduate (as on the date of  appearing at interview) having a Bachelor Degree in Law  (including Integrated Degree course in Law) from any  School/College/University/Institution established by law in  India and recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrolment  as an Advocate. 

(ii) Candidate studying in the fifth year of the Five-Year Integrated  Law Course will also be eligible to apply subject to furnishing  proof of acquiring Law qualification at the time of  interview/before taking up the assignment as Law Clerk-cumResearch Assistant. 

(iii) The candidate must have knowledge of computer including  retrieval of desired information from various search  engines/processes such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis,  Westlaw etc. 

Age Limit

 Candidate must not be below the age of 18 years and above 27  years as on the last date of receipt of applications.   

Method of selection: 

 Selection shall be made on the basis of Written Test and  Interview.  On the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in  the Written Test, merit list will be drawn and candidates will be  short-listed.  Short-listed candidates, three times of actual  requirement, in the order of merit, will be called for an Interview.  A  final select list shall be prepared as per requirement on the basis of  Written Test and Interview.

About the Law Review
The RGNUL Student Research Review [formerly known as RGNUL Student Law Review] (hereinafter “Law Review”) is a bi-annual, student run, peer reviewed journal based at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. It is the flagship journal managed by the students of the University. It has been founded with the objective of facilitating arguments in black and white. Legal Research skills form the core of the learning process in any dimension of law. The primary function of the Law Review is to promote student research, deliberation and writing in the field of law.

The Law Review aims to publish comprehensive treatments of subjects (“articles”), preferably written by law students as well as shorter pieces, commonly called “notes” and “comments”.
Normative law articles form a major component of the Law Review. Legislative Bill Drafting is one of the novel and the primary areas which it aims to cover. Ambiguous provisions in the law are a cause of concern amongst the legal community. In pursuance of the same, any flaws in domestic legislations/treaties can be addressed in the article. The Law Review aims to seek the opinion of student researchers and provides the option to DRAFT and/or AMEND the existing law.
