Theme

According to the National sample survey 2005, the contribution of female workers in the unorganized sector in 96% and they contribute around 20% in the GDP of India. Indian working women constitute nearly half of the total working population and their economic status is still low particularly of those who are engaged in the the informal sector or unorganized sector such as home industry, self employment, small units, agriculture, labor on construction sites etc. The major aspects of working women in unorganized sector include the terms and condition of employment, job security, earnings, social security perquisites, retirement benefits etc., and they are in a disadvantageous position. Some steps have been taken by the India government both at the national and the state level, to protect the rights of working women in the unorganized sector. Therefore, there is an urgent need to focus on and discuss the problems of working women in the unorganized sector. Thus, this national seminar is organised to highlighting the socio-economic condition of of working women in an unorganized sector and to develop the toolkit for improvement and implementation of government policy regarding the health, safety and overall well-being of working women in the unorganized sector.

  1. Changing pattern of Indian working women in the unorganized sector.
  2. The socio-economic condition of Indian women in the unorganized sector.
  3. Social security of Indian women working in the unorganized sector.
  4. Differences in-service conditions of Indian working women of the organized sector and unorganized sector such as pay disparities, working environment etc.
  5. Contribution of Indian working women in different unorganized sector such as agriculture, manufacturing, services etc.
  6. Health, safety, and well-being of Indian women working in the unorganized sector.
  7. Labor laws of central and state government for the working woman’s in the unorganized sector.

Submission of the Papers

The abstract of paper should not be more than 300 words and the full-length paper should not exceed 6000 words.The submission should be in Microsoft word only, written in A4 single-column format, 1.5 line spacing and normal margins, using the font “Times New Roman” in 12 point size.Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. References cited in the text should conform to the style used by the American Psychological Association.

  1. The paper should be original, unpublished and plagiarism free.
  2. Paper should be typed in Times New Roman font for English and for Hindi Kriti Dev 10 font.
  3. The abstract and full paper should have the author’s name, designation, and affiliation along with e-mail Id and Mobile Number.
  4. The full paper must be enclosed with filled in the registration form.
  5. The abstract / full paper must be submitted through e-mail only nswusi2020@gmail.com.
  6. The peer-reviewed accepted papers presented in the seminar shall be published in the ISBN book of the reputed publisher.

Send your abstract of research paper to be presented in Poster Session of the seminar and show your research work to the delegates throughout the seminar days. The dimension of the poster is vertical height 120 cm and horizontal width 80 cm, the poster will be placed vertically.

Access to clean water and air is indispensable to human life. Yet, managing this access in an efficient and effective way is an immensely complex challenge. The current paradigm for environmental quality evaluation relies on a few fixed air and water quality monitoring stations for large areas.

This Short term course invites some experts to talk about the state-of-the-art and future trends in development and eventual deployment of low-cost, low power, autonomous wireless sensor networks to provide a fine-grained view of several critical water and air quality metrices over large geographic areas (cities, rivers, watersheds etc.).

This PG Diploma Course aims to offer a comprehensive coverage of laws, policy on consumer protection and consumer concerns in the era of globalization in the context of India. It will cover international development on consumer law, common law, different statutory laws and regulatory authorities dealing with the subject of consumer protection in India. The Statelessness Summer Course is a 1-week intensive learning programme for professionals on statelessness and related issues. The fourth edition of this annual course will be offered from3 – 7 August 2015. The course is coordinated and run by the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion, and is hosted by Tilburg University in the Netherlands (the course was previously run by the Tilburg Statelessness Programme, which now continues its activities under the flag of the Institute). As in previous years, the course is also held in partnership with Open Society Justice Initiative

The course considers statelessness and the right to nationality from various angles. It deals with legal and policy issues associated with statelessness. Participants from civil society, academia, governments and international organisations from around the world come together to learn about statelessness, explore fundamental questions of definition and legal frameworks, and to develop plans for action.

Course Information

The course provides participants with new knowledge, tools and skills to address statelessness and enforce the right to nationality. The curriculum is taught by lecturers from a variety of backgrounds, both professionally and geographically, all of whom are internationally recognized experts with many years of experience working on statelessness. Participants from all over the world engage actively in the different sessions, with several opportunities throughout the week to work in smaller teams and focus specifically on their own area of interest, e.g. through assignments designed to develop strategic ideas on research, advocacy or litigation. As such, the participants will benefit from the knowledge and professional experience of both the lecturers and their fellow participants.

Materials

A reader with course materials is included within the course fee and will be provided on arrival. Some reading material will be shared electronically before the commencement of the course to help participants to prepare.

Language

As both the sessions and the course materials will be in English, applicants should have proficiency in the English language. Applicants are not required to provide proof of language proficiency, however as a rule Foreign-language English speakers should be able to obtain a score of 7.0 in ELTS/IELTS or 570 in TOEFL as a minimum in order to feel confident that they can actively participate in the course in English.

Application procedure

There is a selection procedure for participants in this course. Eligible candidates have experience in working on issues related to citizenship and statelessness, or significant experience in a related field such as minority rights, migration, forced displacement or child protection and an interest in the issue of statelessness. Such work experience may have been gained in NGOs, inter-governmental organizations, governments or research institutes and universities. All applicants will receive notice as to whether they have been selected for the course by 1 May 2015.

Costs

The course fee is € 950. This covers all weekday lunches, tuition, course materials, an opening reception and closing dinner. Other evening and weekend meals are not included in the course fee. A limited number of tuition waivers are available for applicants who are able to demonstrate how their work would benefit from participation in the course, but who would otherwise be unable to participate. Note that the tuition waivers are highly competitive and we strongly encourage you to seek alternative funding to secure your participation in the course. All participants must cover their own costs for travel to and accommodation in Tilburg for the duration of the course.

Accommodation

Upon being selected for the course, we will provide participants with hotel options in Tilburg. You can expect to pay approx. 80 EUR per night for bed and breakfast. A transportation card to cover costs to and from the hotel to the course location every day will be provided.
