The University of Nottingham is inviting applications for Undergraduate High Achiever Prize. Students from Pakistan can apply for these scholarships.

Eligibilities

Applicants can apply for this high achiever prize if you:

  • are a current student at one of the following colleges in Pakistan:
    • Aitcheson College, Lahore (1 scholarship)
    • The City School Network, Pakistan (3 scholarships, one each for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad)
    • The Lyceum School, Karachi (1 scholarship)
    • Lahore Grammar School Network, Pakistan (1 scholarship)
    • Nixor College, Karachi (1 scholarship)
    • Roots School System, Pakistan (2 scholarships)
    • Karachi Grammar School (1 scholarship);
  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
  • already hold an offer to start a full-time undergraduate degree programme at Nottingham in September 2017, any subject area. You must have gone firm on that offer by 30 June 2017.

UN VIDEO CONTEST FOR PEACE

UN Video Contest for Peace 2016 organized by United Nations is inviting young people across the globe to submit their views in 10-15 seconds of video in English on how the Sustainable Development Goals can build peace.

The theme for UN Video Contest for Peace 2016 is, “The Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace”. The theme highlights how ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for everyone, all contribute to global harmony.
While making the videos, think about why ending poverty, addressing climate change, forging equality and ensuring access to education are important to creating a more peaceful world.

The last date of submission of the videos is September 1, 2016.
The most effective and attractive video will be featured on the YouTube channel of UN on the United Nations International Day of Peace.

Application Form And Process
Participants have to create a 10-15 seconds video keeping in mind the following rules:

1. All videos must be submitted in English only.
2. Videos must reflect the following topics: Ending Poverty, addressing climate change, forging equality and ensuring access to education are important to creating a more peaceful world.
3. Participants must state their name and country at the beginning of the video. (Eg: “My name is Jimena, and I’m from Peru”).
4. Videos must be appropriate for the viewing of the young audience.

Breaking Stereotype Photography Competition

ABOUT :  The aim of this competition is to create awareness on gender issues. Hence, the photographs submitted should portray the same(women rights , Gender Discrimination etc).

Rules & terms of the competition

  1. The Competition is open to the participants who reside in India only.
  2. The participants must be aged between 18 years to 25 years.
  3. The participants can make submissions on the above mentioned theme.
  • Multiple entries are not allowed.
  • There is no restriction on the minimum and the maximum resolution size of the images.
  • One is permitted to submit previously published entry to this competition, provided that the photographer retains his or, her exclusive rights on the image.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

  1. Submit picture before 25, February 2015
  2. After the final call for photographs is over, the pictures will we uploaded on Facebook.
  3. Top 15 people fetching the maximum number of likes will reach second stage.
  4. Second stage will be the selection by Judges.
  5. The photographs that manage to score the maximum will be given cash price.
  6. The top 10 people fetching the maximum number of likes will be offered free online certificate course from Indian Case Laws. Person declared first will be awarded WITH Cash Prize of 1000 INR + Free Certificate course by Indian Case Laws.
  7. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, artistic merit and visual impact. The judges will be appointed by The Knowledge Steez

Rights

  • The organizers do not bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringement of intellectual property carried out by the participants.
  • The photographs hence submitted will become the exclusive property of The Knowledge Steez. The participants will subsequently lose all their rights on the image.
  • Participants found using software to generate fake likes will be disqualified.

Results will be declared on 8, March 2015 (International Women’s Day )
